9.2.11 summer photo of the day

Yesterdays photo being posted a bit late. We had another really full day. Visited the Pt. Reyes Lighthouse. The climb down the 320 steps and back up is equivalent to walking up a 30 story building, or so the sign said! It was worth it. The whole place is just amazing and beautiful. The views from the bluffs to the water are awesome. I can’t wait to come back when it is whale watching season, some day. We did a little side exploring, nothing too off the beaten path, but we visited the only oyster farm left, Drakes Bay Oysters. Kirk said they were outstanding. The oysters had been just harvested that morning. We also took a side road to something called the operations center. Just an old road that led to an old building that looked abandoned, but the road was lined with, and I’m guessing here, 100+ year old Cyprus trees. It was just awesome. Our night was caped off with a ride into downtown SF a stop on Haight Street, where I was propositioned by a homeless man in under 5 minutes. We had dinner at the Wayfare Tavern and it was one of the best dinners I’ve ever had.

Cyprus lined old road.
