I shot a story recently for Macleans of Canada, it is the Canadian Newsweek. It was a very nice feature on a hockey manager who worked his way up thru the ranks after starting as an equipment room worker, Craig Heisinger, senior vice-president and director of hockey operations/assistant general manager of the Winnipeg Jets. Here is the article. The Jets were in Charlotte to play an exhibition game with the Carolina Hurricanes at the Time Warner Arena. We would have about an hour in the locker room before the players started to show up. ‘Zinger’, as he is known, couldn’t have been a nicer guy. Stayed with me the whole time while I set up lights, figured out why ALL of the outlets in the locker room didn’t work, we talked a bit about old time hockey, the Minnesota North Stars. I used to listen to the games on my transistor radio at night in bed. He remembered all of the players that I did. The shoot went well. The only issue was that I had to retouch all of the photos to remove the Charlotte Bobcats logos from the backs of the chairs. Here is how the photo was used in the online edition and a couple of out takes.
