Tuscany

So we are staying at an awesome self catered apartment called Casale Bozzo. It is run by Marinella and Fabio. They not only operate a great apt, they have a 500 tree olive farm and they work as field producers and fixers for the film and television industry ( Film Italy ). They are helping me find some good stories to shoot while we are staying here. They couldn’t be nicer people. We got in late yesterday and had a great dinner in the village of Colle. I had grilled pork tenderloin wrapped in bacon! So good! This morning I started working on one of the stories Fabio put together for me, a song bird hunter. It is a very traditional hunt that is not practiced very much anymore. They put out decoy song birds in cages to draw in the wild ones that they then shoot. Later, we made a quick trip to the supermarket which was amazing, so many cheeses and meats! After that, we accompanied Fabio on a trip to the olive press. The press was a very modern one and had a steady stream of business since this is the olive season. Tomorrow I think we are going out with a truffle hunter and his dog and to an old fashioned stone grinding olive press. Here are a few photos from today.
